Anonymous blog draws DA’s attention.

A “whistle blower” blog has appeared making accusations against the administration of the Gwinnett County Public Schools. The blog called “Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) Insider” was created:

….for the purpose of displaying the facts about the leadership of Gwinnett County School District. All of the information and documentation is genuine and has been provided to Atlanta’s print media. It is time for the citizens of Gwinnett County to know the truth about their educational leaders and how their tax dollars are being wasted. It is time to clean out the sickness and corruption within GCPS.

The allegations in the blog have attracted the attention of Gwinnett DA Danny Porter:

District Attorney Danny Porter said the investigator has talked with one person associated with the Web journal and plans to interview at least two more people about the claims. Porter declined to disclose the names of the people being interviewed.

“I don’t want to say I’m conducting an investigation,” Porter said. “I’m talking to some people to determine if there should be an investigation.”

School district spokeswoman Sloan Roach said Friday the district hasn’t received any inquiries from Porter’s office.

Most of the allegations revolve around money, but the blog has drawn a response from Superintendent Alvin Wilbanks:

You may be assured that we have reviewed in detail the claims made on the blog. The GCPS documents posted on it may be authentic. However, while they are presented as the full and complete picture, in fact they are used out of context and without other related documents– the apparent intent being to mislead the reader with partial, selective information. We are confident the claims have no merit and no one currently employed by the school system acted improperly or unethically as the blog alleges.

I’ll keep a close eye on this and let you know what if anything comes of it.
