After adding in the absentee ballots, District 95 incumbent Republican Robert Mumford survived:
Mumford, a Rockdale attorney, said he was looking forward to a second term under the Gold Dome.
“I have always tried to behave in a nonpartisan manner,” he said. “I intend to continue along those lines and try to make progress with as little partisan divisiveness as possible.”
Despite coming up short, (Democrat George) Wilson said he’ll be back on the streets campaigning this weekend.
Wilson said he’s accomplished his goal of reinvigorating the Democratic party in southern Gwinnett and hopes to continue that in Rockdale and Newton counties.
Mumford’s victory means that no GOP incumbent in the State House was defeated.
