That race is far too close to call. Keep that in mind. Sure, if national trends hit home, Barrow goes back. But the problems in the race are in Burns territory.

We’re not sure what happened in Effingham other than nine of the vote-counting machines malfunctioned. It is going to take a while because both sides want their attorney’s and law enforcement present when the boxes are unsealed.

You can twist this into some conspiracy theory if you want, but this is happening because there is a lot of law to sift through and the results show a difference well within one-percent of the total vote.

On a lighter note, CNN is calling the 2006 Election “Son of a Glitch” in regard to the handful of potential recounts and in honor of its 2000 predecessor.

  3. Fogle, congrats on running a tough race. I know what it’s like to be passionate about candidates and have it not work out in your favor, as just about all my other candidates lost 🙂

Looks like Effingham has reported their totals to SOS and while Burns racked up a big win there, it doesn’t look like it will be enough. I am hoping the Burns and Collins camps won’t try to litigate victories over the next month that didn’t happen at the ballot box yesterday.

It’s not over by any means just yet. So as not to “spam” our most recent post, I’ll refer you to my reply on your GA-12 front page post.
