    I think Barrow is a fine congressperson, but I can’t say I’m shocked about his problems in the Repub redrawn hinterlands of Augustavannah. His base is in Athens, but even his base has misgivings.

    Having said that, Burns is kind of a mindless automaton. You wanna talk about a Bush rubber stamp, look at his record from ’03-’05. I mean, he has a mind, he’s a professor after all, but the automaton descriptor is still apt.

    It’s from the 3:28 hour tracking numbers:

    68% say the hype was all made up, just like the whole 72-hour program;

    20% say, “Well, duh, Mac’s a know-nothing thug!”

    and the other 12% agree with both of the above and observe that’s it’s probably all BS about Barrow, too (and, in a stunning bit of unanimity, the first 88% agree with the 12%)!

    Wow! This stuff ain’t nearly as funny when it;s so close to the truth! I’ll try to do better next time. But for now, gotta go make some illegal robo-calls — oh, wait I don’t work for the NRCC!

    Actually, Barrow’s district was re-drawn to become more Democratic Colin, not more Republican. If Barrow loses is will be more because he’s an inept politician who ran to the right in a district that voted for John Kerry.

    Well the Chatham county results are looking pretty good in Barrow’s favor. Might be enough right there to push him over the mark and keep him there.
