Odd Trivia in the Hunstein v. Wiggins Race

This gal from the Federalist video was busted for DUI over the weekend.

Odd happenstance. Bring on the Hunstein commercial bashing Wiggins for this.

Several people sent me the think to the Holly Pierson DUI situation. Based on the commentary in those posts, I assumed it was from this past weekend. That, in fact, is not the case. Ms. Pierson contacted me directly and said it was two years ago. A mutual acquaintance also tells me that.

My apologies to Ms. Pierson and shame on those of you who were pimping this as having been from this past weekend — though to be fair, there was no date stamp at the news site to see when the video was.

Guys, I am the “gal from the Federalist Video,” and I ask that you remove this false posting ASAP. I was not arrested this weekend for DUI or anything else. I did have the painful and embarassing experience of receiving a DUI almost 2 years ago in another state, but I have paid my dues, learned my lesson, and tried to move on.

And whether you agree with my views or not, my painful past personal experiences are simply irrelevant to the topic in this clip — the approrpiate role of judges in our government. That is the discussion that we are trying to foster, and that is plainly of much more state-wide interest than my personal life.

So, let’s set the record straight by removing that false posting and then move on to a topic that actually has some relevance in this election season.

It also seems to me that there are much more interesting and relevant issues to talk about from that video clip than my past personal life. The topic of discussion — the appropriate role of judges in our government — is of particular importance in Georgia this election season, and I hope you will devote your time and intellect to considering those relevant issues.
