In trumpeting the “Award” supposedly given the Marshall campaign by the WaPo, there’s a bit that Bobby Kahn happened to leave out — the part that says:
The choices are informed by an informal poll of consultants, campaign operatives and other political junkies. This list is meant as a starting point for discussion — it’s not meant to be definitive or comprehensive. And, it’s not meant to be predictive of the election outcome; candidates can run great races and lose.
What I am saying is let’s not put the cart before the horse here. No “award” has been handed out — and there won’t be a final judgment on the actual, real-world effectiveness of the Marshall campaign until at least the night of November 7.
