AJC Endorses Jim Martin

Good for him.

No Georgia constitutional officer requires a better understanding of the legislative process than the lieutenant governor, who presides over the state Senate.

The two candidates for that post, Republican Casey Cagle and Democrat Jim Martin, both have extensive careers in the General Assembly, and both have proved effective. What distinguishes the two are the goals that each man has attempted to accomplish.

  1. RuralDem says:

Well the Lt. Gov really has no power now.

Which, I’m sure if Cagle wins, the Republicans will have no problem restoring some power to the office. It’s nice how our elected officials can simply get away with respecting the office itself. Oh well.

  2. Demonbeck says:

In the immortal words of Jim Nabors…

Really, did anyone not see this coming from the AJC?

  3. Mad Dog says:

It was as oblivious as Cagle being financially supported by … bankers.

(Even thought Cagle, in violation of the 2000 ethics commission judgement against him, calls them ‘businessmen.’)

  4. Maurice Atkinson says:

Whewwwwwwwwww Casey escaped the kiss of death. Thank you AJC for staying the course, albeit you picked a losing candidate.

  5. RuralDem says:

Anyone want to take a guess at what all of these individuals have in common? They’re all Republicans endorsed by the AJC. Maurice, I take it that the “kiss of death” comment applies to these individuals as well? Where’s that hardcore-left AJC slant?

  6. Mad Dog says:

    Rural Dem,

You think the GOP can’t read?

Or, like me, do you think they’re too flappin’ stupid to know when they’re being two faced towards the AJC?
