Well done. I am however, a little concerned at how excited I am about being able to search through contributions. Does anyone else feel as though this may become yet another distraction from everyday life? Or do I not really have I life…

You could always search on the ethics website, the problem was that it did not have a spreadsheet version available. Looks like they have that now, but they are still four years behind where the SOS office was when they took over. Like the progress, but wish it was more.

What did the SOS site have that the ethics site does not have? I know many of the candidates prefer the ethics site because the data entry is much easier.

wow, one could build a nice little marketing database using this site. if you submit the contributor form with a single letter in it (I tried “z” to reduce the number of results), it returns every contributor’s name that contains that letter, along with their mailing address. i didn’t try submitting a blank form, but i’mwondering if that returns every campaign contributor in the database.

i wonder if the names and addresses of people who contribute to political campaigns have value for marketers?

    heroV,

Clearly, you would have fit in at UGAMatthew’s party this weekend. You could have replaced the hot chick riding the chair.

Because if you are excited about searching donors on the State Ethics Website, then clearly you have many nerdly qualities.

    Atlantaman,

On the SOS system you could download a copy of the report in excel. That feature is not available on the ethics site (as far as i could tell). You can cut and paste the info into a spreadsheet, but that is not nearly as helpful as the downloadable version.
