JP,

I saw that site earlier. I only skimmed through the Georgia Delegation. Seems the commonsense Democrats (Marshall, Bishop, Barrow, Scott) received good grades. Lewis and McKinney didn't do well nor did most of the Republicans.

Exactly Demon! Jobs are crucial here in the 12th and Max Burns fought vigorously in the 108th to keep them here... which is why he had a perfect score for that Congress.

But Barrow's low score, even for a Freshman, shows yet again that he is utterly ineffective as a Congressman.

Your last point is correct. I'll give you that. However, the voters do know who supports business, because the local Chambers will tell them. That endorsement goes a lot further than some lobbying group in DC. Jim Marshall may be able to get away with the endorsement of a few Chambers in his district, but John Barrow will not be so lucky in the 12th.

Demon, I'm just poking some fun at interest group politics. However, if Marshall and Barrow are so much worse than Collins and Burns, why did Gulfstream and Kia decide to locate here during their reigns?

I mean, you can see how this kind of stuff becomes pretty ridiculous. On the one hand, you'll argue that Perdue's got a great record. But Marshall and Perdue have been in office the exact same duration, so is Marshall's record over the same period, based on the same thing happening, now bad?

The whole point is that the number of voters in the 8th/12th district who will care about these ratings is probably equal to the number of people who contribute money or work for this group.

I bet the Rev. Jim Nelson would have been rated highly by the NAM. He was in the NAM - stationed in "the shit."

Exactly chris, God damn those industrialists! How dare Gulfstream create an additional 2,100 jobs this year alone in the Savannah area! The last thing this state needs are more well-paid engineering positions.

What is Kia thinking bringing a new plant to LaGrange? Don't they know we don't bow down to the man in this state? We don't want to take those jobs from hard-working Koreans.

Like just yesterday, a wealthy industrialist saved so much money on outsourcing jobs that he was able to hire an additional poolboy to clean the pool at his guest house. Job creation!

It's not about big business or "industrialists"... this is about jobs and growth.

Those - like Max Burns - who receive NAM awards have a proven record of working hard to create jobs and economic growth within their districts. And obviously, those - like Johnnie Athens - who receive a poor rating are hindering job growth and economic prosperity.

Looks like all the industrialists who own manufacturing companies in Districts 8 and 12 know who to vote for now. I'm sure this latest report is going to change quite a few minds.

That's it, I'm convinced. I mean, cause if it is good enough for big business then it is good enough for me.
