Hanner in the Clear

From the Telegraph:

The state ethics board has reversed a two-year-old decision, clearing state Rep. Bob Hanner, D-Parrott, on charges of using campaign money to pay rent for an Atlanta apartment.

The board also dismissed charges that Hanner used campaign funds to pay about one-third of his monthly car bill between 1998 and 2004. Hanner, former chairman of the House Natural Resources and Environment Committee, was part of 2002 media investigations into lawmakers who tapped campaign coffers to pay for year-round housing near the Capitol.

This reminds me that it was never mentioned on the PP that 9 of the top 10 legislators with campaign finance late-filing penalties were Democrats. This in a legislature dominated by Republicans, so the amount of Dems with problems is an extremely disproportionate amount.

    Bill,

In the good old days of democrat control, the girlfriends were all paid for by the lobbyists. You wouldn’t have to waste campaign funds on those pleasures!

Today there is less of that as most Republicans avoid such improprieties and who wastes that kind of money on the democrats?

Today it is merely the occasional trip to Cheeta III or some such that may get paid for by the lobbyists, but no more live-in girl friends.
