Gas prices and other stuff.

I’ve racked my brain and scoured the deep dark reaches of the internet trying find something interesting going on today related to politics here in Georgia.

I’ve come up empty.

However, I did want to point out that gas prices have dropped dramatically over the last month. According to, the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded in metro-Atlanta is now $2.692 compared to $2.957 last month. Some stations are charging as low as $2.55. It’s still higher than the average price of $2.498 one year ago, but that was pre-Katrina, and before the most recent developments in the Middle East. It almost makes me want to drive around aimlessly. 🙂

Other interesting stuff:

The Little League Baseball team from Columbus will play for the World Championship today at 5 pm.

Students at Georgia Tech are camping out to get tickets to Saturday’s game against Notre Dame.

  1. Bill Simon says:

Students at UGA have already bought their beer and bottles of Evan Williams for their opening day. They could care less whether or not they get IN the stadium to witness the game. 🙂

  2. Demonbeck says:

Bill, that is probably because they are so used to seeing them on national television every weekend, unlike the North Avenue Trade School.

  3. debbie0040 says:

I like the Dawgs and Yellow Jackets. Which one won the last national championship? I have a bet with hubby it was Tech.
