The Little League baseball team from Columbus, GA will play for the National Championship on Saturday, and the right to play for the World Championship on Sunday:
Columbus is only the second team from Georgia to qualify for this event in 60 years. A team from Marietta won in 1983.
“They’re still not playing to their potential,” said Tony Pierce, a former Oakland A’s pitcher who drove 800 miles from Columbus, where he coaches many of these players on the Young Guns travel team. “There’s plenty left.”
