McKinney still trailing by double-digits

A new Insider Advantage Poll says Hank Johnson leads Cynthia McKinney 53% to 40% with 7% still undecided.

11Alive has more.

Update:

I just finished reading the 11Alive story about a debate Johnson and McKinney had today on V-103. The question was asked about impeaching Bush. McKinney’s answer was not surprising, but will Republicans considering crossing over pause based on Johnson’s answer?

Johnson said he wants more congressional investigations, but said he would not hesitate to vote for impeachment if the evidence warranted.

He’s not calling for impeachment, but he’s in line with Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats as best I can tell.

Does this change any GOP’ers minds out there?

This is not on topic, but then again I am not a front page poster. 🙂 I wanted to know what some of my Republican friends thought of what was in my mailbox in Forsyth County today. It was a “Voter’s Guide to the County Commission Runoff” that grades each candidate in both races on several issues (growth, traffic, water, open gov’t, fiscal conservative, and active Republican). One candidate in each race gets all green “Yes” while two other candidates gets various red “No’s”, question marks, and incompletes. The implication is clear: the Forsyth County Republican Party practically endorsed Charlie Laughinghouse and Jim Harrell over Jim Amos and the current commission chariman, Jack Conway, respectively. Is this normal for a county party? I know on our (Dem) side, county parties getting involved in primaries is a big no-no. So, fill me in. Personally, I am happy with the Forsyth County GOP’s choices, but I was surprised that they sent this mailing. What gives?

Sorry, just to make it clearer. This postcard is clearly paid for and mailed out by the “Forsyth County Republican Party.” It wouldnt be a big deal if it was some PAC, campaign, or other group.

Given both are most likely to vote the same, as a crossover voter I would vote for the least effective candidate. McKinney. She only helps the GOP.

I am a GOPer and I think that we shouldn’t lose sight of the fact that Hank is indeed a Democrat, even if he doesn’t align with Cynthia on many other issues. I thinkt that the 4th district will only elect a Democrat, so we are left looking at who can do the least amount of damage.

Cynthia McKinney is irresponsible and an embarrassment to Georgia and the nation. Politics aside, she should be put out of office.
