Waffle House for Reed

According to this letter (PDF) sent out from Waffle House’s corporate headquarters and signed by Don Balfour, only Ralph Reed signs will be allowed on display at Waffle Houses around Georgia.

Want some hash browns with that?

  1. Former Cagle Guy says:

Always loved Waffle House. Guess where I’ll be having breakfast in the morning.

Thanks for the help Sen. Balfour!

  2. buzzbrockway says:

Guys give Sen. Balfour a break. These instructions come from his boss Joe Rogers, who’s supporting Reed. Balfour’s just doing what his boss tells him to.

  3. Tater Tate says:

Ain’t nothing better than a double order of scattered, smothered, and covered. And a Reed sign in the yard makes um even better.

    Waffle House is the best!

  4. rugby_fan says:

Appropos of nothing, I went to the Majestic the other day and to annoy the hipster waiter (who was, as is usual, annoyed that customers had interrupted his job), said id like some hash browns smothered and covered.

His response this isnt waffle house and walked off.

  5. Mike Hassinger says:

The letter makes it sound like the Reed camp was the only ne that asked -I didn’t see anything about other signs or candidates being banned.

  6. Tater Tate says:

Low blows and what I have come to expect from Cagle koolaide drinkers. I am proud of Sen. Balfour and Mr. Rogers. They are true Georgia heroes.

I’ve always eaten at the Waffle House and I’ll sing their praises even more now.

  7. northside elephant says:

As a Cagle supporter I am REALLY worried.

Ralph has Waffle House AND homeschool-labor? We’re screwed!

  8. northside elephant says:

I just think that it is really funny that Tater-Tot and other Reed people think that this is a big deal! I’ve been back in Georgia driving all over the metro area (helping Cagle) for the past week and I have seen 1 Reed sign near a Waffle House.

Maybe the homeschool crowd will work for waffle instead of cash?

  9. Bill Simon says:

Who accused Cagle of having the “insiders” on his team? You cannot get more of an inside money-guy than Joe Rogers. Hell, Waffle House coffee cups are the only things allowed in the Governor’s office.

  10. educatedvoterga says:

I’m not much for their food, but I suppose this does help with the common man voter. Good for Mr. Reed. I suspect being raised by a single poor mother, Mr. Cagle has seen the inside of a lot of Waffle Houses.

  11. rtwingmom says:

I have only eaten at the Waffle House when I was Drunk and that happens to be the only way I’d vote for RR.

  12. GAWire says:

I believe Websters Online Dictionary has inserted the above story as a definition for the word: NON-ISSUE.

The story about sign-wavers should already be next to: MEANINGLESS.

Come to think of it, we could write an entirely new dictionary with new definitions for words based on efforts by Ralph’s campaign.

  13. joelsbeetch says:

And to think I run out to the Waffle House all the time for take out for the campaign staff to eat when they are not posting on the pundit.

How could Waffle House and Sen. Balfour treat us so badly? I guess I’ll have to start going down to the 7-11 now to pick up Twinkies for the boys.

  14. BahamaBoy says:

Hey jerm, you gave me an idea. Cagle supporters should put on their red shirts and drink coffee all day long at every Waffle House in town. Sit with their backs to the door so people see them wyhen they enter.

Nah! I like boycotting much better. I’m getting my eggs over easy somewhere else.

Now, if Starbucks goes for Reed I’m sunk!

  15. ReaganRepublican says:

Balfour and Staton are two of the biggest sellouts in the Senate. Heck, Staton sold out Jesus for money to Godsey.
What we have here are two man-whores…. The 1st oppurtunity conservatve voters get, we need to kick these back-stabbing bums out……

  16. landman says:

Seems fitting to me,where else would a greaseball get an endorsement from an eating establishment other than Waffle House?

Here’s the Question of the day class,How many original thoughts have Senators Balfour and Staton had combined in their tenure?…..The answer…ZERO!!!!!!

  17. Dawgsrock says:

I believe Balfour has endorsed Kemp & Stephens. Interesting that only Ralph signs are allowed.

  18. lobbyga says:

Actually, the senators supporting Reed, Hudgens, and now apparently Balfour, all have very conservative voting records. All are rated A+ by the NRA and have GRTL endorsements as well as those of business orgs.

So to suggest that the senators supporting Reed are not conservative is simply crazy.

The fact is it is the business and lobby establishment that is supporting Cagle. He is the insider candidate for those who want Atlanta to continue running as it did under the Democrats.

If you believe otherwise you are naive or just stupid.

  19. Rusty says:

I heard a rumor once that Joe Rogers has a private jet he lands at Peachtree-DeKalb airport illegally (bigger than FAA regulations allow at that airport).

  20. jsm says:

This guy did the same thing for Jeff Williams, a state senate candidate who has no feasible chance of winning.

    I’m seeing a trend.

  21. Mike says:

Off the subject–Cagle is hitting one of my pet peeve issues hard–emminent domain. Is he blowing smoke up my arse? What’s Ralph’s stand on private property rights?

  22. rugby_fan says:

“I’ll be dining at Huddle House from now on.”

Wow Demonbeck, you must really dislike RR.

Seriously, this isnt going to move a single voter. IT DOESNT MATTER.

In full disclosure, I am friends with the Rogers family.

  23. Tater Tate says:

Cagle can’t be hitting this too hard. He is only doing a cya because of Reed’s pointing out that he took a walk on SB 86 and did not vote with the Senate on the most important eminent domain vote in 2005. In fact he supported the SB 5 bill that Boortz helpted kill.

Cagle only got religion on eminent domain after he decided to run for higher office. Otherwise he though it so unimportant he decided to show some children around the capitol rather than vote for eminent domain protection in 2005.

    Sick really.

  24. Tater Tate says:

    much too hot right now–

    truth hurts don’t it landman?

might go get some waffle house ice tea though

  25. Demonbeck says:

    Tater,

That’s funny, considering that THE AUTHOR OF SB86 JEFF CHAPMAN ENDORSED CAGLE NOT REED.

Mike – Cagle was excused for several votes to host some constituents in the Capitol when SB 86 came up for a vote. It passed overwhelmingly in the Senate as everyone expected. Had the vote been close or had anyone expected it to be close, Cagle would have been there.

Later on in the legislative process, the Senate got a second chance to vote on Emminent Domain when the House Passed HB 1313 and HR 1306 (the Governor’s Emminent Domain Legislation) came to the Senate. Cagle voted in support of the Governor’s bill AND voted in favor of a substitute amendment that was worded exactly the same as SB86.

Cagle has voted for Sen. Jeff Chapman’s Emminent Domain Legislation and don’t let any Ralph Reed supporter lie to you and tell you differently.

  26. eem2006 says:

I wonder if LobbyGA is effective having his issues heard at the Capitol when he calls the Sens by their wrong names..
    It is Staton, not Stanton.

I heard someone describe Staton once as having a serious case of Conneticut lock jaw. Pretty accurate.

  27. Tater Tate says:

Funny, the Meeks of Stockbridge and good friends of Chapman have endorsed Reed–hear that–Reed.

And I have not heard anything out of Chapman lately. He told us at a recent event down here that he was staying out.

The Meeks are Georgia’s poster children on eminent domain abuse in Georgia. The are heroes and are supporting Ralph. They want someone who thinks stoping eminent domain abuse is more important than showing children around the capitol.

Don’t trust your property to Cagle.

  28. Bill Simon says:

NOT that I thought you were, anyway, but the Rogers have a history of discriminating against blacks/African-Americans…and, HOW fitting it is that we discover this “insurance plan” that Ralph was working on with Abramoff to scam some money out of some black elders.

  29. larry smith says:

    Tater,

Heroes are people like our friend Jeff Emanuel who get shot at to protect our freedom.

The Meeks are a couple who filed a lawsuit.

Have some perspective here, and quit demeaning people who really are heroes.

  30. ReaganRepublican says:

Their is nothing conservative about betrayal, especialy ones God.. They can never be trusted again……

  31. rugby_fan says:

    Hey Bill,

A sleuth you are! Although let me say, that I can not speak as to whether the family is racist but, that would go very much against what Mary and their children are like.

I am somewhere between christmas card friends and church friends.

  32. rugby_fan says:

Simon you are quite the sleuth…

I cant speak for the family’s view about race but Mary and the kids do not seem racist in any way.

  33. Demonbeck says:

Chapman has gone on record saying that Casey Cagle is with him on emminent domain. Don’t try and lie your way out of this Tater. Emminent Domain is not owned by either candidate in this race despite the claims of that crooked lobbyist.

Casey Cagle made the right choice – knowing that SB86 was going to pass easily – he ensured that the property rights of his constituents was in good hands and the took care of the education of his younger constituents at the same time.

  34. rugby_fan says:

sorry for that double post, Firefox closed while sending it and i wasnt sure if it posted.

  35. Tater Tate says:

How sweet Demonbeck. I have this visual image–one of those crazy looks on Cagle’s face like in the Reed mailer–as he showed the children around the capitol instead of voting to protect property rights for Georgians. What decision making skills, what judgment. Just what we want in the LG’s office.

If Chapman were for Cagle where is he? Why is he not doing commercials and why is he not on the mailers? I know why. Chapman told a bunch of us from South Georgia that he was not getting into it. He even refused to put his name on the infamous letter where the senate traitors asked Reed to drop out.

So try again. Your guy Cagle is a fake and a fraud and conservative voters will know it soon enough.

  36. Bull Moose says:

Well, no more Waffle House for me – EVER. I’m serious, this race is not just a competition between Casey Cagle and ralph reed, it’s a battle between honesty and what’s right and greed, excess, and hypocrisy.

I just find it irresponsible and well, stupid, to vote for Ralph Reed.

  37. GOPeach says:

RALPH REED personally knew and worked with RONALD REAGAN.
Our State would be honored to have RALPH REED as Lt.Gov.

    “ReaganRepublican” –
You are silly. Your screen name is amusing.

RONALD REAGAN would not be in the same room with you!
President Reagan had class a lot of CLASS!!!!!!

He NEVER SPOKE ill of a fellow republican.

He LOVED RALPH REED! HE Respected Ralph Reed!!!!
Michale Reagan has endorsed Ralph Reed.

    You are sooooooo clueless.

Oh and by the way …

Sen. Cecil Staton has the balls to stand up to the
Senate. He is NOT a “yes man” and all the arrogant
senators who sided with their little buddy Casey-

These little senators actually used SENATE STATIONARY
( what we the tax payers paid for) to endorse Casey
    during session!!!!! An ethical violation!!!

Cecil Staton has more class and ethical sense than
    ANY other Senator!!!

    BTW-

Sen. Judson Hill has pulled his endorsement for Casey!

Judson Hill is moving over to the Cecil Staton List!

He has chutzpah!!! He has brains!!!

    He wants to het re-elected.

  38. GOPeach says:

    WAFFLE HOUSE is GREAT!

    We LOVE WAFFLE HOUSE!

We are going to eat there once a week.

We are going to take friends there and start
meeting there like the Democrats meet at
    Starbucks!!

Waffle House has just got cool!

  39. GOPeach says:

    Tater-

    You are awesome!

You are a breathe of fress air.
We were about to start referring to PP as Pee Pee.

I have been on the phones all morning calling my neighbors
    to vote for RAlLPH REED…

They were undecided until I got to them –
They KNOW ME! They know who I am and they KNOW
I would NEVER call them if I was not completely
    sold on RALPH REED!!

    RALPH IS THE RIGHT CHOICE!

  40. GOPeach says:

I was just told that Waffle House makes THE BEST OMLETTE!

If you need to lower your colesterol just ask them to make your omlette with egg whites with peppers, onions, tomoates, and mushroonms. It is soooo good with hot tea
    or coffee!!

    WAFFLE HOUSE ROCKS!

  41. northside elephant says:

    GOPeach is a desperate liar!

Judson Hill and Casey staffer Russel Mildner just put up Cagle signs in East Cobb. I am helping them out tommorow.

Judson Hill, Chip Rogers and John Wiles have signed letters, sent e-mails and recorded automated phone calls for CASEY CAGLE.

  42. rtwingmom says:

Waffle House is only good when you are drunk. It sucks otherwise. RR only looks like a good choice when your drunk. He sucks otherwise.

  43. stephaniemills21 says:

Rusty, just find out what the tail number is to his plane and you can find out if he lands it at PDK. There are tons of sites where you can track where planes land. The hard part is finding the who actually owns the plane.

Did not find one registered to him, but two to waffle house, with tail numbers 501GF and 500GF. Both land at PDK. http://flightaware.com/

  44. GAWire says:

“””President Reagan had class a lot of CLASS!!!!!! He NEVER SPOKE ill of a fellow republican.”””

Too bad you can’t say the same thing for Ralph Reed. I bet you would try to argue that Ron Reagan endorsed Ralph Reed before he passed.

If we’re sooooooo clueless, then what can be said for your boy Ralph who “if he knew then what he now knows, then he never would have worked with Jack Abramoff”? Who’s really clueless?

    Newsflash, Peach: YOU’RE AN IDIOT!

  45. northside elephant says:

The Cobb Senate delegation supports Casey Cagle for Lt Gov. I can understand that, they are personal friends, their families know each other and sometimes travel together. They work together almost daily outside of the session and put in long hours together during the session.

Just accept that Hill, Rogers and Wiles are doing everything that they can to help their friend Cagle. When the primary is over they will be behind the nominee 100%.

  46. BahamaBoy says:

AJC reports the race is 43-43 at this point? Reed is turning to the diaper brigade so its time for the Cagle pit crew to rev up the engines over the weekend.

The only way for evil to triumph is for good men [and women] to do nothing.

We have come too far to slow down now. Reed’s blood is in the water and there is plenty more to come over the weekend. The evil Gray Lady (that’s New York Times, Debbie) will chime in on Sunday with a feature worthy of a fallen hero. I plan to buy a copy to keep as a souvenir. You can call it librel meedya all you want, but it is still the newspaper of record in this vast country of ours. Reed is a national figure worthy of such coverage. I just hope they don’t put it over in the obits. I never read those.

  47. ConcernedTeenager says:

I think as dirty as this campaign has been that both candidates are bleeding and preparing for a finale, bahama. I find it interesting that both are claiming to be Christians and yet they attack each other as though the other was satanic or something. Does anybody else have a problem with that?

Back on topic…wouldn’t having waffle house support you be like a candidate supporting a heart attack? I mean, personally, I love waffle house, and a stupid sign isn’t going to change that, but the cholesterol there may kill off a few voters before the primary…

  48. BahamaBoy says:

Let’s see Debbie? A 30-second radio ad from a Democrat or read a 32-page report that documents Reed’s work on the Marianas Islands project. Which should I chose?

Kool-Aid drinkers needn’t bother with the 32-page report. It’s full of facts and evidence and all sorts of things that will make your skin crawl. Best stick with Zell’s warm and fuzzy voice.

  49. GOPeach says:

    Northsaide Elephant-

If what you are saying is true-

    JUSDON HILL lied
to keep his Reed voters happy.

He is getting a call right now!

This will be a loooooooong night
for Judson, John, & Chip –
