Maybe Stephens has forgotten he is not running for his Senate seat. I thought a move for a Constitutional Amendment would begin at the Statehouse. Next, he’ll probably be calling for a special session.

  2. Dawgsrock says:

Some people will say anything to get elected. For the first time in the race he has a priority, that’s good.

I’m not sure what a constitutional amendment accomplishes versus just passing a plain ol’ law. Perhaps someone can explain it to me. If it carries more weight then perhaps we should consider making all of the Georgia laws constitutional amendments. Or at least the ones the don’t prohibitions against fishing with dynamite.

    atlantaman,

He’s 0-2 on voter-id bills. Guess he thinks he’ll have better luck with a constitutional amendment.

It’s really a desperate move to get some free press.

  5. Batman says:

Blah Blah Blah. You all would be praising Handel to high heaven if she proposed it, so get off of your high horse.
It is within his realm to propose ideas dealing with elections, and then to go to the legislature asking for implementation.

  6. LINDA says:

I want an amendment for a test to be given to get a voter ID! Simple questions though like

    1. How many hours are there in a day?

    2. Is Georgia located in the Southwest or the
    Southeast?

    3. What is the capital of Georgia?

    4. If you are driving 60 miles per hour and
have to drive 220 miles, how long will it
take you to arrive at your destination?

    5. How many senators do we elect to represent
    us in Washington DC?

A grade of 100 would be needed to vote, and how many people do you think we could disqualify?

  7. LINDA says:

Well, it is legal according to the Constitution as long as everyone has to take the same test and they all get written results. There could be a test bank with several thousand similar questions where no one could memorize them and tell other people. If a person was blind, the questions could be read to them to not discriminate. Common sense is needed to vote responsibly, don’t you agree?

  8. bowersville says:

I guess what confused Batman about question 1 was it didn’t include instructions on whether to consider it in reference to the eastern time zone or daylight savings time.

  9. Dawgsrock says:

Bobby Kahn is the head of the Democratic Party in GA. He’s also a front pager here, but doesn’t post very often

  10. Batman says:

wow, you guys are hilarious. I’m hurt, real hurt that anonymous people (and one lady who doesn’t even know that Bobby Kahn is the Chairman of Georgia’s Democratic Party, even though she wants to disqualify their entire group), on blogs are questioning my intelligence. Wow, that just keeps me up at night. (insert sarcasm after first sentence).

  11. LINDA says:

Well, I really don’t follow state politics that much. I have never been to a Democrat political meeting, but I bet it is a real blast.

  12. UnknownTruths says:

    1. How many hours are there in a day? Not enough!

    2. Is Georgia located in the Southwest or the
Southeast? Savannah, south east? shouldnt it be north east and Kingsland be South east?

    3. What is the capital of Georgia? State of Chatham aka Savannah? =X

    4. If you are driving 60 miles per hour and
have to drive 220 miles, how long will it
take you to arrive at your destination? Perplexing…3 hrs and 40 minutes unless…yes unless.. you are coming from lets say Alabama to Atlanta and you go from central to eastern time zone then its 4 hrs 40 minutes? =X

    5. How many senators do we elect to represent
us in Washington DC? Well we elect them but I’ll be dam$ed if they actually represent us..

A grade of 100 would be needed to vote, and how many people do you think we could disqualify?
    Did i Pass?

  13. Batman,

You’re right. It is important for him to propose ideas dealing with elections. Unfortunately, this is the FIRST time he has done so the entire campaign. And that’s all it is…and idea. It’s not a platform. It’s not a plan. At least, for once in his campaign, he has proposed SOMETHING that has to do with the office though.

  14. For the Record, Batman, you’re not even the coolest superhero. Superman would kick your ass anyday of the week. But, I will give you credit for being able to beat up that pu**y, Spiderman.

  15. Dawgsrock says:

I think Batman is actually going to change to Batwomen, then Raspail, Meltzer & Batwomen will all be gay

  16. Bull Moose says:

I want a constitutional amendment that you can’t launch personal and maliciously untrue attacks against your opponent and their spouse, Bill, but it’s politics. You’re yesterday’s news, Karen Handel for victory.

  17. JP says:

How about a constitutional amendment against voter ID requirements, as well as against Republican-base-pandering gay marriage bans and flag burning bans? Then you might be onto something.
