  1. The Busdriver says:

Nice. This jackass quotes the “liberal media”, then rips ’em at the end. And way to cite the same wire story in 4 different papers. Loser.

Ralphie is still repeating the lie “everybody does it” lie. Casey did not say that, a newspaper columnist did.

  2. Tater Tate says:

The Wall Street Journal is at least mainstream overall, especially its editorial page.

This is a great ad. Very effective. It cannot run enough between now and Tuesday. People are being turned off by how “crazy” Cagle has become. He has jumped off the cliff of political credibility. Its just way to much and it is backfiring.

  3. Bill B. says:

Damn! And he’s got a 2:1 CASH ON HAND ADVANTAGE to keep hammering his message for the next week. Sounds like the Cagle car needs a new engine…or at least more gas!

  4. Romegaguy says:

Wasnt it just a week or two ago that Debbie was claiming that the WSJ was liberal after they wrote something critical about Ralphie?

  5. landman says:

Ralph’s done, he will be beaten on the 18th and can go do whatever is left for him to do.He looked rough in the ad,and for him to attack someone on ethical grounds is a joke. The more negative attacks he puts up the more it hurts his campaign, and drives those undecideds to Casey.

BTW that “grassroots army” really showed up on the disclosure,a whopping 300k, that is embarassing, considering all of Ralph’s high powered freinds. You guys were saying he raised this much at the Rudy Fest….as usual all smoke and mirrors.

  6. Bull Moose says:

Bye Bye Ralph! You and your army of supporters can hit the road…

I really admire how Cagle stood up and took on this David versus Goliath campaign. He did so because he knew he was the best candidate. He did so because he knew it was the right thing to do.

Work hard Casey, we’re all praying and working for you to obtain victory on July 18.

  7. larry smith says:

Hey, Bill, if you want to pull your head out of your butt long enough to think…

BOTH campaigns are running at 1200 gross rating points. There’s NOTHING left for Ralph to spend that 500k on.

  8. Mike Hassinger says:

I agree with the Busdriver, that ad sucks. Same old, same old, and people are sick to death of the attacks. There is nothing that either candidate could say about the other at this point that wouldn’t make the average voter stick their fingers in their ears and shout: “la-la-la-la, I’m not listening!”

Somewhere, I think I predicted exactly this as Reed’s strategy: Drive Cagle’s negatives up, push the undecideds away and count on his base being there one more time. I don’t personally like that strategy, but it just might work yet.

I can’t believe the undecided are still as high as the polls show. I think that most people (except for Erick “Hamlet” Erickson) made up their minds weeks ago, but won’t say so. Just my guess.

  9. Bull Moose says:

I’m hearing rumors of push polling phone calls from the Reed camp. In the calls they ask if the person would still vote for Casey if they knew he was an aethiest.

I’ve now heard the same thing from 2 different people. Anyone else hearing this desperation?

    This is absolutely dispicable…

  10. BahamaBoy says:

No. This is Reed when he is desperate. I hope more listeners who receive such calls will post here to confirm this tactic. Otherwise, its still just a rumor.

  11. debbie0040 says:

I think the voters are confused. Whenever Casey runs an ad, Reed comes back slamming him hard. Voters don’t know what to believe. They do know Reed has not been charge with a cri me as Cagle had said he would. But when someone they trust like Zell Miller and others call them and say they trust Reed and they should too, that will have an impact.

  12. Demonbeck says:

“when someone they trust like Zell Miller”

Trust – that’s why they call him Zig-Zag

  13. GOPeach says:

    Well there you have it.

Cagle can not prove any of his accusations.

Ralph is not a criminal. Nobody has charged
him for anything. And they will not charge him.
If they were going to, they would have done so
    already. Clearly Ralph is innocent.

Cagle’s ads are obviously politically crafted to scare
Conservative voters and to connect Ralph Reed with other Christian Conservatives who have made mistakes.

Ralph publically said he was sorry for doing business
with people who have betrayed him. Live and learn.

Has anyone here ever done business with someone
who betrayed them???? Did you give the money back ????
    Why not????

Think about what you are saying !!!!
It does not make any sense.

  14. Demonbeck says:

GOPeach, your head is so far up Reed’s ass that I am beginning to think you’re a hypocrite when you say you are against sodomy.

  15. Bill B. says:

Spin as hard as you can and lie as much as you can, but Ralph Reed is going to work until the very end to let the voters know he has a plan for Georgia. With a 2:1 ADVANTAGE it’s going to work.

And BullLiar, quit with the childish high school games. If you have a job, do it. If your job is on the campaign, please do it – as dumb as you are you help Ralph!

  16. BahamaBoy says:

So Debbie, do you think its fair to do push polling phone calls that suggest Cagle is an atheist? That’s apparently what Reed’s camp is doing, and the hounds are hot on the trail. When the callers are located Reed will say he didn’t know they were saying such things and that he deplores such negative campaigning.

Wait until the media run with this one. It should put Reed 10 more points behind.

  17. Jack S says:

I just got a call from a woman telling me to support the Christian candidate Ralph Reed and that Casey is an atheist.

I told her to burn in hell and hung up.

  18. jackson says:

Dude! I got that same call. What a scumbag. I didnt like Ralph Reed before, but when I got the call, I was disgusted. Erick – you ahve to write on this. This is 100% TRUE!

  19. The Busdriver says:

You knew it was only a matter of time. I’m suprised they’re using atheist rather than just calling Casey a Satanist.

  20. BahamaBoy says:

I hope these listeners will make notes of the conversation and file complaints with the Georgia Secretary of State. It may not stop the calling, but it will force the campaign to confront the charges and may generate media exposure.

Erick, how about a new thread on this atheist calling?

  21. debbie0040 says:

The so called calls are more lies from the Cagle campaign. They are getting desparate and making things up. So far, the only ones reporting it are Cagle people that have no credibility. Getting creative and desparate boys?

I think a good. credible push poll would be, “Would you support Casey Cagle is you knew he was being supported by certain gay groups and they were going to cross over into the GOP Primary and vote for him?” Or, “Would you still vote for Casey Cagle if you knew he is the candidate in the GOP Primary supported by gays?”

Those push polls I would believe. Not the one about the atheist.

As far as I am concerned, anything that happens in regard to Casey campaign is something he asked for and deserves. Afterall,he started the dirty campaigning…

Demonbeck, I think I know who GaPeach is and if she is who I am thinking of from Cobb County, you are making a huge mistake antagonizing her if you are a GOP elected official, work for one or have political ambitions.

  22. jackson says:

    Debbie –

I dont normally respond to you because you are crazy. I got the damn call. Deal with it.

  23. landman says:

I just recieved a call from a friend who recieved the call, this is absolutely pathetic on the part of the Reed Campaign. This is setting a new low for Politics in Georgia.I hope you Holier than thou Reed supporters are proud,What a disgrace.

GOPEACH,why dont you enlighten us on when these pathetic acts will be forgiven?

  24. GrandOleDawg says:

I think the ad is effective. Just what the doctor ordered at this point. Of course, that is a minority view on this site, and I will now be called insane or something similar by one of these rabid Cagle supporters.

  25. GOPeach says:

The Reed people are not doing a push poll!
You know it. I know it. and the Educated
People on this Blg know it! That’s old school.

Give me a break. You guys are so silly.
    You are so ridiculous….
    Rumors Rumors Rumors Rumors….
    Slander Slander Slander
    Bash Bash Bash
Sound Bite Sound Bite Sound Bite…..
    Yaddda Yadda Yadda

You all are sooo naughty. What am I going
to do with you guys. You are soooo bad.

Does your mother know where you are?
Does she know you are up this late?
Does your mother know that you are messing
with people’s heads and that you are making
up ghost stories to scare people???

Well let’s break out the marshmellows and
coat hangers and have us a good ole fashion
campfire and sit around and make up
sacry things to post on Peach Pundit…

    Puhleeeeeeeeeeze

Ralph Reed is nothing like you think. He is
a really nice person. He is smart and you will
like once you get to know him.

    Demon-

You need to change your screen name.
You are acting sooooo ugly. Watch your mouth.
You should be ashamed of such language. There
are teengers looking at this blog and they
are learning bad things from you.

I am not kidding. You need to watch it.
You have some very disturbing imaginations.
I know you think you are funny. But you are
not funny. You are rude. You are very rude.
You owe me an appology. Can you handle that?

  26. Bull Moose says:

You know, it’s really sad and pathetic that politics in our state have fallen to were they are right now. It’s all thanks to one man — Ralph Reed, Jr. Or Dr. Reed as he likes to be called.

I’m sorry, but he did this to John McCain in South Carolina and now he’s trying to do it to Casey Cagle.

This is absolutely insane. Ralph Reed, face it, you are going to lose. Do you want to be remembered for being desperate and going down like a fool, or being a gentelman and taking your licks in style. If you ever clear your name, there may just be another campaign for you down the road, but the way you keep going, hell, you won’t even be elected coroner.

  27. Demonbeck says:

    GOPeach –

I could handle an apology, but you wouldn’t like me telling you where you can stick it.

Tell you what, I’ll offer you an apology as soon as Ralph Reed stops spreading vicious lies. Until then, don’t tell me what I should do.

  28. SOUTHERNCOMFORT says:

BRING IT YOU BUNCH OF BENCH SITTING WUSSES, COME TO DULUTH AND SEE HOW THE BIG BOYS PLAY. WE WILL WIN BY 18-23 PTS.

  29. Bill Simon says:

Southern Comfort, I don’t think it will be that much.

But, on another note, are those calls about Casey being an atheist REALLY going out? By whom? Saide Fields???

  30. Bull Moose says:

We’ve had reports of the atheist calls from at least 4 or 5 people from different parts of the state… It’s sad Bill Simon, just sad…

Why can’t Ralph Reed just run on his own credentials, oh wait, he doesn’t have any…

  31. Maurice Atkinson says:

This looks like some WWF street fight. I am definitely not a Reed supporter, however, I would hardly doubt that the campaign would encourage that kind of activity. I do think it probably is some zealot that doesn’t know how to control his energy and is merely trying to irritate people.

At this point the best thing to do is to encourage people to vote, pure and simple. I’ve spent my time talking with people without getting into the deep philosophical discussions. I’ve read enough raw information that disturbs me and gives me enough info to make a logical decision.

I’m not interested in star gazing or who has the power connections, I’m far more interested in someone who can effectively lead and presents a clear conservative agenda. Casey exceeds those expectations.

  32. larry smith says:

Did this GOPeach person just call us all “naughty?”

I think Debbie and Linda may be on their way to becoming a party of three.

  33. SOUTHERNCOMFORT says:

BILL S I KNOW IT SEEMS LIKE A HIGH NUMBER BUT YOU IF YOU LOOK AT ALL THE DYNAMICS THIS ELECTION SETS UP TO BE A SURPRISE..THAT SAID IF YOU ARE CORRECT AND ITS 52% CASEY 48% REED I WILL BE JUST AS HAPPY.

  34. Philly says:

Larry, judging from the results of the Cobb GOP Straw Poll and the Gwinnett Straw Poll, looks like more than 3.

  35. JP says:

Bus Driver, nice find. I was going to post that.

Reed bashes the “liberal media” because he claims he does so much for “our conservative values.” My values do NOT include hypocricy, greed and putting Christian zealots in office. I will be voting against Ralph Reed and encourage others to do the same.

  36. Bill B. says:

I think that the reason the cagleites on here keep trying to spead the rumor that cagle is an atheist is because it has the element of being possible (do they know something we dont?) and because since their guy is doing push polls and lying, they assume others campaign that same way.

Not so boys and girls. Ralph has credentials, a plan, supporters (including Sonny’s Chatham chairman – yikes!), and the money to win (2:1 at last count). He’s continuing to do what he’s always done. Present his positive vision for Georgia to Georgians.

  37. Bill Simon says:

Bill B., you’re smoking crack. OR, you have your nose up Ralph’s crack. Either way, your vision of the world in which you live in is pretty well FUBAR.
