Piggybacking on Buzz’s post a bit, I think it’s extremely important that, during the celebration of this 230th Independence Day, we all take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices of myriad individuals without which this nation not only would not have endured this long, but without which it would not have been possible in the first place.
Military, civilian, male, female, black, white, red, etc., millions of people have worked to make this country what it is: the envy of the world, and the most free and most benevolent nation in history. It’s important that these people not be forgotten, and that their deeds not be marginalized. So please, take a moment today to thank someone who has dedicated their life to serving this great nation in some way, be it militarily, economically, politically, as a teacher, as a first responder, or in any other way. And, everybody, please be safe, and have a great 4th.
