I’ve seen the ad. It is poorly done. It sounds very “bushy” in the fact that “it’s always someone else’s fault.” Yawn, more scapegoating. So what else is new?

    caroline-

You must be kidding. The ad isn’t about whose fault the fiscal mess was–it’s about who cleaned it up.

Good analogy.. too bad you forgot that someone had to wipe all the crap off of the sippy cup because of mess in kitchen.

Well, have you seen the ad? It comes off as whiny. The ad is fuzzy and it doesn’t even use Sonny’s voice. Does Sonny’s voice register negatives?

Well Governor Barnes certainly cant dispute that Sonny has handled the economic/ budget affairs of the State much better than his administration did. A Surplus under a Republican Governor, Senate, and House speaks volumes.

Hmm, I guess they will be running from the national party, eh?

    Caroline,
As a fiscal conservative I am very dissapointed in the Republican controlled Congress’s spending habits. That is one of the major reasons I like McCain, he is a hawk on the budget and will not tollerate the massive amounts of pork barrel spending. I think the President needs the Line Item veto, and we need term-limits because coincidentaly the most pork barrel projects come from the Senators that have been there forever (ie: Sen. Ted Stevens (R-Alaska) and his pork barrel projects like the bridge to no where, and the heated side walks in Anchoridge. and Chuck Grassly’s Indoor Rain Forrest in Iowa, and Max Baucus’s funding to study the DNA of Bears in Montana.) So yes, I would advocate that the Governor compare our surplus to the Nations Deficit.

  8. Uh how do you think the rainy day fund got close to $1 billion in it. That was the surplus amounts Barnes contributed to it. Then 9/11 and the economic downturn happened and the state weathered through that brief bad point. Sonny has managed to do what every other Georgia governor before him has done — balance the budget when there was no terrorist attack. Congrats.

There are not that many Governors currently in the other 49 States that have a surplus…This is a big deal Chris, and he does deserve accalades for it. We’ve never had a Governor like Sonny that could bring so many jobs to Georgia and he has done an excellent job on the budget/ economic matters. You Taylor and Cox supporters will try hard to maganilize the credit the Governor gets for what he has done, but the people of Georgia love fiscal conservatives..this is a big deal to us.

Yes you are right, we’ve got this surplus by not allowing the widows and dependent children of state troopers killed in the line of duty to keep paying into the health care coverage, plus holding down pork spending? So now we understand we are no longer at service to the state when dead, yet we fund pet cemetaries? At, least that’s what the local Dem’s are claiming, I don’t know. But if burying FiFi and Pooh-Pooh is more important, please send my share of the surplus back to me, it’s my money, I believe I can spend it better than government.

Bowersville, If what you said is true than I couldnt agree with you more..that makes no sence.
