Miles for Lt. Gov.

As predicted here and here, State Sen. Steen “Newslady” Miles has qualified for the Democratic nomination for Lt. Governor.  I’m sure her Senate district is safe for the Democrats, but what impact will this have on the Democratic primary?

Folks, last year marked a significant change in the Democratic demographics, for the first time more African-Americans voted in the primary than whites.

Miles, being the only African-American in the race could, if Mark Taylor and her team up to turn out the base, be their nominee.

TurnOUT? I can only assume you’re kidding. If there’s anything to keep Dems at home on primary day, it’s the presence of Cynthia and Mark on the ballot. Thank goodness Cathy will get people out to vote for real change in Georgia. I guess Mark can take credit for the Tupac resolution, too–he’s taken credit for everything else. Toss Tupac in the mix, too. Why not?

If Miles really can get African Americans to the polls, it gives an advantage to Mark Taylor. Cynthia will get African Americans out as well, because people either love her or hate her, and they’ll want to vote her in or out of office. Two big factors that give Taylor an advantage over Cox.
