Middle Georgia Races

Also from the tip line:

Beth Perera of Warner Robins announced in the Houston Home Journal on Thursday that she will seek the Democratic nomination for 136 –the seat being vacated by Robert Ray. County Commissioner Jay Walker in the same issue announced that he will not seek the house seat, but will seek another term on the County Commission.

Did you get the information that Dee Yearty, who was running as Democrat for Senate-20 (Ross Tolleson’s seat) withdrew in order to run for the House seat being vacated by Terry Coleman. Story is that she switched races when the local man planning to run for the seat switched parties. Yearty is a first rate stump speaker who appears to know everybody in that house district already and says the seat was Democrat for 34 years and she wants to keep it that way.

  1. I might add that both Beth Perera & Dee Yearty are members of the Georgia Democratic State Committee, so they might (however unlikely) get a little funding from the State Party.

At the least, they should be able to get $500 from the Unions.
