It’s Official: NASCAR to Charlotte.

No surprise, but here’s a quote from Gov. Perdue:

“As a guy, I’m disappointed. They decided to marry the girl next door,” Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue said. “We had a lot to offer. It could have been a great marriage.”

I’m surprised Shirley and the City Council didn’t raise a big fuss and accuse the NASCAR folks of “racism” when the AJC reported that one thing they were concerned about was the crime-ridden streets of Atlanta as a turnoff to locating it here.

I did read a funny quote in the AJC – someone said, “Maybe Atlanta will get the National Rap Museum.”

Of course this is hindsight, but I don’t think Atlanta ever really had a chance. You have all the history and all the drivers up there around Charlotte. I mean Dale Junior was lobbying on Charlottes behalf!

I think the France family wisely used Atlanta against Charlotte to receive one bigass check from the taxpayers of North Carolina.
