According to the Charlotte Observer, it’s all over but the shouting:
Two high-ranking NASCAR officials and two Nextel Cup team owners, all speaking on the condition of anonymity, said Charlotte’s selection was nearly certain.
I suppose we shouldn’t be surprised. Charlotte put up an incredible amount of money for the NASCAR Hall of Fame, and several racing teams call the city home.
