Ah, what’s 18 billion among friends?

I’m not sure how much time was spent on Budget hearings in the past, but I do remember one of the things the GOP wanted to do was not wait until the last few days of the session to deal with things. They’re certainly not doing that this year.

  2. Oh give me a break! Ever since I can remember and probably way before that the legislature has always convened for one week and then used the second week for budget hearings.

And the actual budget will get passed around Day 30 in the House and Day 35 in the Senate and then an agreement will be reached on Day 40 to reconcile the two.

The only difference is the conservatives in charge of the budget committees used to call themselves Democrats and now they call themselves Republicans.
