No money for new Symphony hall…yet.

Governor Perdue’s 2007 budget does not include the $50 million requested by the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra for their new $300 million Symphony Hall:

The problem, according to Perdue spokeswoman Heather Hedrick, is that before Georgia can contribute the $50 million — in the form of bond funding — state law requires symphony backers to come up with the rest of the money.

Hedrick said Perdue remains a strong supporter of the symphony and will encourage the organization to resubmit its proposal for state funding next year.
