$25 million tax cut for business.

Macon Telegraph: Georgia reports $25M tax cut for employers

“Improvement in the state’s job market and efforts by the Georgia Department of Labor to hold down program costs contributed significant savings to the state’s unemployment insurance trust fund,” Thurmond said in the release. “As a result, the department has a solvent trust fund and maintains one of the lowest unemployment insurance tax rates in the Southeast.”

Maybe this is why no Republican has stepped up to challenge Michael Thurmond: he’d be tough to beat.

  1. You should be thanking the Legislature. I am not sure that Thurmond could do any of this by himself.

Also, look for the Macon Telegraph to put a spin on whatever you read. They will never give credit to any Republican.

Although, did you realize that the Labor Commissioner gets over 300 appointments.
