Augusta Chronicle: Is Georgia Legislature ready for prime time Webcasting?

House Speaker Glenn Richardson showed off the new technology to reporters Wednesday and crowed, “I like to say we’ve thrown open the doors of government.”

In many ways he and the Republicans have.

I like it. I doubt many people will watch, but the more avenues for people to get information about the actions of the elected officials, the better.

    I’ve always thought that if the people in representative Austin Scott’s district saw how he acts in committee meetings they would never re-elect him. He leans back in his chair and gives loud huffs like he is bored and his body language is just really disrespectful. He looks like he isn’t paying attention and that it is a burden for him to be there.
