Perry McGuire to AG?

The rumor has been out there for a while. We noted it here back in August. Well, the rumor is back today. I called Mr. McGuire’s campaign for comment, but couldn’t reach anyone — got voicemail.

If I hear back from them, I’ll update with their response. We’ve actually gotten a couple of emails today saying this. We’ll see.

[UPDATE] I just talked to Eric Dial on behalf of Mr. McGuire. He says that they are hearing the same rumors and that right now they are focusing on the Secretary of State’s race. The key words are “right now.”

The rumor actually started again Tuesday this week.

He would be a good candidate for AG. Make the SOS race an interesting contrast between Handel & Stephens

    Baily’s a no-op

We need a good Republican to run for AG. Perry fits that bill.

Not exactly a ringing endorsement of their own campaign, “right now we are focusing……..”

We need a strong conservative, who is for real. I’ll support him with whatever decision is made. It will make for an interesting campaign. Perry is not a grandstander and very much a deep conservative. It would provide very good balance to the ballot.

If Ralph’s issue go away, which is not likely, it would be better for everyone.

Perry McGuire would be good as either Sec of State or AG. I think he should run for AG if he wants to because we need some more good true conservatives to run for office. He will make the party look good too, unlike some that are running. McGuire probably our best chance for the AG’s race.

On Sat. Perry left himself some wiggle room. When asked about AG he responded the rumors aren’t coming from us.
