Tossing Kurey

An update on Councilman Kurey.

lpharetta City Councilman R.J. Kurey’s conduct has been so improper since he took office two years ago that his colleagues should take the extreme step of removing him from office, a special investigator appointed by the city recommended Monday.

Attorney David Monde said Kurey has “engaged in a pervasive pattern of misconduct related to his office” and told the council “there is simply no other option left” besides removal. The council voted 6-1 Monday night, with only Kurey disagreeing, to consider that option at an Aug. 18 hearing that will have all the elements of a mini-trial.
